Program Assistant

Unpaid Intern

Position Title: Program Assistant Intern (Unpaid)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Itawamba Crossroads Ranch
Duration: August 2025 – May 2026

Position Overview:
The Program Assistant Intern will work closely with the Director of Operations to support the day-to-day activities of the Ranch. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit administration, event planning, and program coordination. The intern will assist with light administrative tasks, support resident activities, and contribute to the planning and execution of events and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and scheduling
  • Support the planning and execution of resident activities, community events, and fundraisers
  • Help with event logistics such as set-up, supply organization, and volunteer coordination
  • Provide occasional hands-on support to residents during activities or outings
  • Assist in maintaining program materials, schedules, and communications
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for residents
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
Qualifications:
  • Current college student or recent graduate
  • Passionate about working with individuals with special needs
  • Organized, dependable, and able to multitask
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing to learn and take initiative
  • Must pass a background check
Time Commitment:
  • Internship runs from August 2025 to May 2026
  • Flexible schedule, approximately 10–20 hours per week (some evenings/weekends for events may be required)

Position Title: Marketing & Social Media Intern (Unpaid)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Itawamba Crossroads Ranch
Duration: August 2025 – May 2026

Position Overview:
The Marketing & Social Media Intern will play a key role in promoting the mission and activities of the Ranch through digital platforms and community outreach. This internship offers practical experience in nonprofit marketing, social media management, and content creation. The intern will work closely with the Director of Operations to increase visibility, engagement, and community support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a social media content calendar
  • Capture and edit photos and videos of resident activities and events (with consent)
  • Draft newsletters, social media posts, and occasional blog or website updates
  • Support marketing efforts for events, fundraisers, and community campaigns
  • Track and report on social media engagement and growth metrics
  • Collaborate with staff to highlight the mission and impact of the Ranch
Qualifications:
  • Current college student or recent graduate (preferred fields: Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Media, or related)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
  • Creative eye for visual content, photography, or basic design
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Must pass a background check
Time Commitment:
  • Internship runs from August 2025 to May 2026
